Dr Damien Zilm MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Damien Zilm is co-principal of Meekatharra GP clinic. He is a Specialist GP holding both college fellowships. He has special interests in small town medicine (emergency and inpatient care), chronic disease, palliative care, aged care, occupational medicine and skin/ skin cancer. He is passionate about improving the care and health of our Aboriginal peoples. He is also involved organisations to improve the health and welfare of all of WAs communities. Outside of medicine he has many passions, especially scuba diving.

Dr Karen Wickham MBBS, FRACGP, DCH

Dr Karen Wickham grew up in Perth, graduating from the University of Western Australia in 2009.  After additional training in paediatrics and geriatrics, she then completed her fellowship in General Practice in Margaret River.  The last 3 years she has spent working in Meekatharra.

Dr Wickham is interested in treating patients as a whole, and is currently completing a certificate in Medical Nutrition

Dr David Gaskill

David is a medical director and rural generalist with advanced emergency skills who works in rural country.

A doctor for 35 years, David came to Australia 10 years ago having been appointed to the Medical Director role for the Kimberley region in Western Australia Country Health Service. He maintained his skills working as a Family & Emergency Medicine clinician and now works freelance across Australia.

His specific interests include medical leadership, the delivery of healthcare in challenging environments, pre-hospital emergency response, medicinal cannabis and point-of-care uses of ultrasound examination.

He gained his medical degree with distinction from Edinburgh University (1988) and with distinction in higher qualifications in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (1991) and Family Medicine (1993, 2013); later, also, an MA in Theology & Ethics from Regent College, Vancouver (1997); and Fellowship in Health Service Management (2019).

David’s global career with diverse rural perspectives incorporates roles as a Medical Practice Principal in the Scottish Highlands; as a Diplomat in the UK Foreign Office acting as the Medical Adviser for Asia; and as a Medical Leader and Rural Generalist in outback Western Australia. Whether serving as a physician or executive leader, David aims to improve the health and wellbeing of his patients with kindness, compassion, skill and consummate professionalism.
